FOX has found a way to creatively advertise comedy TV show “The Mindy Project” on Tinder. Tinder is a quick-fire dating application that matches users who like each others profiles, and has been matching up users with characters from FOX’s comedy. Users have reportedly been matched with protagonists Mindy and Danny.
This however, comes with a great amount of questions. Are these accounts fake? Can users opt out of being spammed with fake accounts? Did FOX pay for this placement, or is this just an intern matching these fake profiles with any and everyone? This also brings up a potential advertising opportunity for businesses — especially those who make use of personas and characters.
